Update: Added two more photos at end of this post May 15, 2011.
Just a reminder that you can click on the photos to see an enlarged version.
Andy Elliot’s Thing arrived back at the shop from paint.
Andy got the Thing decal on and now it’s time for re-assembly.

There was no shortage of technicians to get the good times rolling.
Gary installing his wiring harness for the engine bay…while Andrew installs the steering column.
Doug installing the deck lid gasket.
Everything under the gas tank will be replaced and the electric fuel pump installed.
Gas tank was powder coated. Andy will be switching to H4 Halogen headlights.
Hooked up to the truck. It will return next week for the doors, and windshield frame and glass. Some items were being touched up at the paint shop. Engine will be next as well.
Photos added May 15, 2011:
Andrew getting the engine bay ready for the engine we built last month.
Andy & Andrew finishing up the engine install. Next will be ball joints….then the raising of the rear trailing arms to bring the tired butt back level. More progress as it happens. We will have this Thing ready for the trip to the Playa over in Oregon for our speed runs on the lake bed in June.
