We have 4 engines to build prior to our yearly rallye which takes place in July of 2011. These are engines for the new acquisitions we have made over this past winter. This is the cool tin we use on all of our engines. The copper wire keeps the tin from rattling when we are on the gravel and off road trips.
With most of the photos you can click on the image to see an enlarged version.
A better view of the securing copper wire on the cool tin. All parts are new on this engine including the engine case, and RIMCO counter-weighted crank.
Andrew setting the compression ratio on number 1 cylinder. 6.8 to 1
his is where I torque the case halves after installing the counter-weighted crank and camshaft.
I run all cases through a dishwasher prior to assembly. They come out clean and bright.

Studs installed in the short block. You can see the four longer studs on the case for the high volume Melling oil pump which will be installed last.

The 1/2 cylinders installed and compression set. We will cut the push rods to length after measuring length needed and the amount of coil bind on the valves.

Finish long block wrapped and heading for the shelf. Andy will get his tin back from the powder coater in a week or so. We will then finished the build to a turn key. His Thing should be in the paint shop in the next month or so and we will then re-assemble everything. Just in time for a trip to the Palya for break-in prior to the actual rallye in July.
